CITIZENS STATE BANK - LANKIN BRANCH

Citizens State Bank of Lankin was founded in 1905 under the ownership and management of James H. Vorachek. Over the years, many of the Vorachek family members became involved in the banking industry. James' wife, Mayme played a role in the organization's operation, as did many of their children and grandchildren. Several years ago the original Citizens State Bank building was removed and a new building was constructed on the same site.

Edinburg Branch

The Citizens State Bank of Lankin opened a branch in Edinburg in 1938. Marjorie Vorachek, one of James H. Vorachek's daughters supervised this office until 1981. Marjie Jonasson, granddaughter of Mr. Vorachek and Vice President of Citizens State Bank, manages this office. A new bank facility was built in Edinburg in 1999. The bank's operations department is housed at this location.

Edmore Branch

The Citizens State Bank of Lankin opened a branch in Edmore in 1937. Harold Vorachek, one of James H. Vorachek's sons, supervised this office until 1955. LaVerne Vorachek Gaarder, became manager in 1960 and currently serves as the bank's CEO/Chairman of the Board. Jerry Leingang is presently the bank's manager. The Edmore facility was remodeled in 2000 with many of the architectural characteristics from the 1900's building being preserved.
